Electronic Credit card Scams. Valentine’s Day greetings are expected with this day and although e-cards or greetings cards sent via internet could be the trend, you want to look out against e-card scams.
An e-card sent by scammer may contain viruses or spyware. A malicious program can install itself inside your computer and copy all of your files and information trapped in your pc system.
Phishing Scams. Scammers try to fit everything in to steal information from the web. One common approach is by creating “fake” or “phishing” websites that are especially made to steal information.
There's a chance you're directed to provide some verifying information and then click one of the links embedded on the email. However, the url creates a “phishing” website that is designed to look like an internet form to enter your own information.
Online Dating Scams. Do you think you're about to look for a date on Valentine’s Day through the internet? If yes, you need to be extra cautious.
Skimmers. If you are planning to look at your special someone on the dinner date inside a fine-dining restaurant, don’t hand your credit card to the waiter.
Instead, volunteer to take your plastic card for the cashier and an eye on your card. Be sure that the plastic card never leaves your sight. If the cashier has to do verification steps, ensure that it is done to view your plastic card.
